** nanostudio songs **
Maybe I should have posted here and not in announcements Oops
JUST WANT TO SAY THANKS FOR SUCH A GREAT APP!!
I just finished a ruff mix I did in the park and wanted to share it for what its worth
All music was done in 2 weekends on NanoStudio
with an iphone, ipod (w/italk pro) and mini cable
I am posting this to say thanks to BlipInteractive
for making such a wonderfull tool
Now I can lay in the grass in central park and tinker with song ideas in a realistic way. The sampler, the ReSampling the drums and the keys are just AMAZING!!!
The video was also taken in the park on a bike ride around the city.
Exported to .wav, .mov, and thrown in FCP.
FUN FUN FUN.......
I worked on my website with a designer friend for two years ( http://universeuniverse.com/ )
and can really appreciate the effort you put into making such a phenomenal APP...
thanks again and I can't wait to see what you do for future updates
I like your first track SiCkBeats , simple but nice melody .
i really like this. this is sick. chek out mine, right above yours!
Had to register, just to say that this program absolutely rules.
It's got me doing music-related stuff again, after a long hiatus. The good thing about it is that it limits me in many good ways. When I'm left with just some stuff, I can actually focus on making music instead of endless tweaking - although there's an incredible amount of flexibility in NS, I have to add.
Here's about the third little session with NS - thought I'd add it, even though it doesn't compare to the great stuff people have already put up..!
A friend of mine was just playing away on the acoustic and had this riff. I recorded it straight to NS and trimmed it. Even some slight sample-chopping going on.. Actually there would be one of my two feature requests: Easier interface for sample chopping. The other would be a metronome for recording samples :-)
Nice! I know what you mean - after spending time at various points in my life fiddling with the endless possibilties of desktop DAWs, 4 simple synths, 16 samples and a few effects can be quite liberating.
@josker, I love the tune... great work..
I know what you guys mean.. Nano makes me work more
on writing and playing with limitations.. :-) I remember back in the early 80's
I had a Roland Juno 6, And a TR-606 with two Cassette tape decks and a little mixer from Radio Shack
and over dubbed back and forth untill the tape hiss got so bad that I had to call it a wrap
probably got 4 to 5 tracks bouncing back and forth... LOL
I commented on your track @ Soundcloud (as "Unflattered").
Great work josker, how did you achieve that reverse effect on the guitar?
Wow, thank you jbonnell and loveaurell! Made my day :)
The reverse effect: in trg16, the drum machine, click edit - then the pad you like to reverse. Then there's the direction button. You can have it play normally, reversed, first normal then reverse or, well, first reverse then normal.
So no need for any trickery there, mr.blip's got us covered!
great songs everyone
I posted a video of my first nanoS song
but wanted to try soundcloud so here it is in audio
it was a fun challenge to put vocals on this song
but the resampling was the key and the mic on the iphone is not bad if you ask me
love all the songs and really enjoy that tune josker(very cool)
I commented on your track @ SoundCloud (as "Unflattered"). Nice work.
Josker I know of that feature, but I thought it sounded like only small parts of the guitar recording is reversed while the rest plays forward. Have you cropped it and added to the TRG in small parts and reversed?
Oh ok, I misunderstood. You're right on the money - small chopped up parts in trg-16, some reversed, some not.
Love that bass Shortjay :D
Just brilliant. What we are playing with now is just the start. Can't wait to here more
Nano studio Rocks. I run Logic Pro 9 on an Imac and its fantastic, but this little beauty is simple to use and great fun. Can't wait to write some new stuff in Cornwall. Check out my first track on the Nano. Written entirely on my Iphone 4. Let me know what you all think.\
i like your bass. what bass for the synth are you using? cant find a decent one.
Thanks TurtlePilot , i like your tracks too , very relaxing and i like how you do the drums part .
I used "Falling Down", "dirty", and "open saw" presets for the synths parts with some little tweaks on them but i don't play with the XYpad . The sound of the "wind" you hear sometimes is a sample with some realtime filter tweak (thanks amazing NanoStudio !).
For the bass i used "acoustic bass" preset with some little tweak .
Working on my first piece atm, a kind of trancey/chunky affair. I'm having a blast with NS, except this morning when I lost all the tweaks I'd made to the Eden synths! Aaargh! Oh well, must remember to hit WRITE in future...
BTW, I'm an illustrator/designer by trade, so if you'd like some artwork for this impending NanoStudio ep cover...?
