Yeah, the last bit...Probably goes too low for most purposes, I reckon.
OK 'tis noted.
..and 'Input format' should now work for people so they can embed SoundCloud player links too (it's just above the Save and Preview buttons). A reminder of how to embed a SoundCloud link:
1. Go to your waveform view in SoundCloud and click on the 'Share' button in the top left corner.
2. Copy all the 'embed code' text it gives you and paste it into your post.
3. Before you submit your post, click on 'Input format' (just above the Save and Preview buttons) and choose 'Full HTML'.
I'd enable full HTML by default but I don't want spam sites hitting it with a load of flashing viagra adverts and shit like that!
Nice work! Did you upload the wav directly? I uploaded the mp3's for NanoStudio's demos because I had them to hand but I have a feeling that SoundCloud's recompressed them.
I was going to upload the wave file but decided not to for speed's sake. Converted it to V1 Lame VBR MP3. Yeah, not sure what Soundcloud does with them. I think the version that appears in the player is compressed to their own standard format, whatever that is, for the sake of player decoding speed. It's clearly not too rubbish just from listening. If you download the track though, it is in the original format as uploaded (just tried it).
Yeah I liked the fact that even if you uploaded a big fat wav, you were still only limited by time (not file size), and you could download the original 'unmolested'.
In general it's probably only the uploader who notices the recompression and takes it personally having heard the original time and time again. No one else will know!
Bought NanoStudio two days ago, and I've been playing around with it, getting used to it, etc -
Really quite impressive, thanks for an absolutely amazing app!
Here's a first attempt at putting something together. Done while I was sitting around being lazy in bed. It's a it less than 2 minutes and is fairly done-ish unless I decide to turn it into something more.
Now if only Amplitube With iRig would let me RECORD my guitar and then if I could PASTE it into NanoStudio - well, let's just say I'm looking forward to that day :)
Nice - I took the liberty of embedding it for you!
Sure - thanks :)
Something happened in that track that I like even though I didn't quite intend - I added a delay to the TRG so that the vocals come with a delay, and then noticed (wasn't planned!) that it was also affecting all TRG's from that point onwards in the track. In this particular case, I liked the effect, so I haven't tried to remove it - but I need to work out why exactly that happened so I can control it when I need to. I'm guessing the next 'part' needs to have the delay consciously set back to 0?
That effects (like presets) will basically continue to be applied per track unless specifically told otherwise?
There's three output busses in the TRG. Normally all (or most) pads are connected with Bus 1. To add a delay just to certain pads, first click "EDIT" and then the pad. On the top right hand corner, you will see the pad with a round button above it. Click that button and the text to it's right will change ("Bus 1/2/3"), as will the color of the pad. So, once you've connected the pad with bus 2 or 3, click done, then open bus 2 or 3 (the one you connected the pad with), and set the delay there. You're done :-D
Another thing: When recording, you will see a flashing red dot to some of the knobs. This means, when you adjust the knob while recording, it records the knob's movement! Amazing :D It's fun to play around with cutoff :-P
Here is my first serious contribution entirely made with NanoStudio. Just exported and cropped on computer and converted to mp3.
It's very inspired by Twin Peaks ;)
The "brushy" sound is a palm against a couch recorded straight into NanoStudio and then looped and layered. The vibes is a marimba sampled through the iphone. The other samples are from NanoStudios Jazz library and the synths are modified presets.
Liking your style but I can see what you're going to ask me next - when can I record full vocal tracks?
My first with Nano.. just a short little piece learning the program.. BTW thanks Matt for the update to Nanosync. Just perfect now I can back up and xfer to multiple devices..
howd you get those wobbles on the second song!? and where'd you get that fat bass drum for the second one?
THANKS FOR THE LOOKOUT ON MY STYLE BUT NO IM NOT GONNA ASK YOU ABOUT ADDIN VOCAL RECORDING LOL IT SEEMS A LOT OF PPL ARE ASKIN FOR THAT FEATURE BUT I THINK THATS A LOT TO ASK FOR AND IM ONLY SAYIN THIS BCUZ I HAVE AN IPOD TOUCH (2ND GEN) AND I DONT SEE HOW THAT WOULD BE USEFUL MAYBE ON AN IPAD BUT NOT ON AN IPOD BUT I WILL SAY THIS IF YOU DO EVER DECIDE TO DO SUCH A THING THEN THAT WOULD BE AN AWESOME FEATURE TO SAY THE LEAST IM NOT KNOCKIN IT IM JUST NOT INTERESTED IN THAT RIGHT NOW WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO SEE IN FUTURE UPDATES IS MORE SYNTHS PRESETS(HIP HOP STYLES.....STRINGS,ORGANS,BASS,HEAVY LEADS,HORNS) MORE TRACKS AND MORE SAMPLE BANKS IN TRG AND THE ABILITY TO EXPORT EACH TRACK AS AN INDIVIDUAL WAVE THAT WOULD BE HOT OK THANKS FOR UR RESPONSE THIS APP IS INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!!
Ah, threw this together just now..experimenting with YouTube! Big up NanoStudio!
Nice. Although that video reminds me of an acid trip I'd like to forget :)
Teak neck torturial ~~~~~~~~
My first day with nanostudio. Finally got some time to play with it this evening. I started out looking on the forum for a technique tutorial and then I thought, why not just get stuck in? Gradually getting the hang of everything.
Here's my first attempt at a recording.
