Got a bunch of mobile stuff up here, most of it is beatmaker, noise.io and thumbjam, but recently I pretty much do everything in NanoStudio.

Help! Can anyone tell me where I got the whistle melody idea from? The original was a massive 90s hit but I can't trace it in my mp3s.

My version is deliberately different, it goes downward c# - - b g# b c# - - b g# b etc... whereas the original (don't know key, so let's base it on c#m too) goes upward, e.g. c# - - d# e d# c# - - etc. (the "-" indicates half steps, quavers). It's 15 seconds in.

Originally thought Robert Miles (not Children) but I don't think it is.

Check out my first NanoStudio creation. Mixed down in NanoStudio.
Overlayed a sweet electric guitar line which I recorded afterwards. Comes in after the first 16 bars. Enjoy!

Enjoy! Yay NanoStudio!

Just got nanostudio a few days ago and I'm blown away by what's possible on such a small device. Anyway, here's my first effort:

Little hip hop beat. Not quite finished yet. Made most of it on a plane this past weekend. :)

The droning loop was made in the Moog Filtatron. The rest is Nanostudio->mixdown->soundcloud.

Dendy ... so well done. thanks for posting this.

This is probably a no no to ask, but i will anyway and apologize for over stepping.

Another person here (formal) posted a youtube video of a tune he did in NS and basically filmed the track in progress (song mode, various TRG samples at work in real time, automation as it happened in the tune)

It was very helpful to me to watch it happen and helped me with my own music (completely differnet genre)

Is there anyway to post a video of this tune while it's running?

I know some people3 would rather not "share their production secrets" so it's totally cool if it's not your thing. Just thought I would ask because the track is so well done. Thanks

I exported the .nsp file from my ipod to my mac and loaded it up in the OSX version. Then I used a screen capture program to record it while I played the track. I hid the mouse icon in the video, which is why you can't see it when I click in the different sections. When you do screen capture try to do it at a 720x480 (this is standard widescreen resolution for dvds) and makes it look good on youtube. If you have any other questions please let me know. I plan to make more videos after the contest ends, so if you guys want to see anything different or see how I approach a song please let me know.

My remix of NanoStudio demo song called Rock On.
I did this a while ago, just for fun.

(no it's not for the competition ;)
I altered drums, bass, delay, etc. then mixed down within NanoStudio and used NanoSync to transfer to Mac. Loaded into Audacity and applied Dyson Compressor.

This is the first thing I have tried to post so I am not sure if it is going to link. I have several songs I am tinkering with that I'll eventually post when they are finished. I cannot overstate how thrilled I am with this app. Unlike many of you, I have been musically inactive for a long time and Nanostudio has allowed me to use little bits and pieces of time to create music that would otherwise go unmade. This is my only hardware & software for creating music; excepting my poorly played classical guitar. Thanks Matt for providing such a great tool. I would love to get feedback on this and any future posts. Hope you all like it.

Updated version of my first attempt. Trimmed some fat, and added some guitar recorded through Ampkit. I loaded the guitar audio into one of the empty pads in the TRG and trimmed the waves up for a loop, and then just performed it with the pad while recording. Is this the best way to do that or do others import audio differently?

Hey There Delilah Remix

Please check out all my other tracks, they were made by Nanostudio but they're all just complete noob compared to my HTD remix lol, they were from Nanostudio 1.0 when I was first learning the ropes. I just recorded from my own samples onto the TRG-16, then mastered it with Acid Music Studio 8.0. Enjoy! :-)

Ha ha not only have you got to grips with it, you've also made a top tune AND finished it off with a video, SoundCloud upload and forum post.

I'd like to see what your productivity's like when you're not ill :)

Is it time for a 'nanostudio music' sub-forum?

As long as it has an acid dub skiffle sub-sub-forum I'm happy. It's a genre too often overlooked :)

After years of dicking around with various music creation software and never finishing a 'real' song, I was finally able to break through that barrier a couple of days ago with NanoStudio. The sense of satisfaction is overwhelming :)

I was really aiming for something with a Boards of Canada / Tycho feel, and this is what I ended up with. I'm thinking of incorporating some vocal samples next time.
The thing I like about this kind of music is that it would be easy to piece together in a live set. I could totally build this track on the fly without any problems, just by adding layer upon layer upon layer. If you've ever seen any of Denkitribe's videos (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M8sd05pQ3aw), he accomplishes this very well.

Anyway, here it is! Feedback is definitely appreciated.
