> Must be British slang.

I think it's nerd slang. I know I've been saying it (and borking things) for years. :)

Galaxyexplorer (not verified)

I googled "borking" just for fun and the first thing appears was that i need at least one swede for this....then it opened a hell of spam sites....you know what....i feel borked now :O

Well Matt must be a nerd if he's an app developer, so that makes sense.
And I'm a ludite so it makes sense that I did not know the term.
Now that I have increased my vocabulary, I will be ready to understand the term when I hear it used in a film. Maybe Suicide Squad will use it. Jason Bourne will def not use it.
When I do hear it, I'll just smile a bit and think, "Hey, that's Matt's word."

Can someone who often 'borks' things be called a 'borker'? Can one refer to 'borking' as in "I'm really borking this up."? (Like that punctuation). Can it be used as an insult? "you mother borker!"
I'm sure that's going too far.

Sounds like something from an episode of Silicon Valley or The IT Crowd: some project manager trying to show how "down" they are with the their dev team says "Yeah, I really Björked that one, huh?"

Good one syrupcore! I think there is an opening for you in Burbank down at the writer's office.

according to Apple, 'Borked' is an American word. But then Apple came up with the non-word, 'Funner'. So what the actual **** do Apple know? :-/

Didn't Apple also actually invent the word Apple as well? According to them...?
They are 'God' after all and without them we certainly wouldn't be in the garden of Eden.
...sorry. Couldn't control myself.

LMAO!!

YES.

Arseholes! (universal term used in Britain as well as the States, to describe... ARSEHOLES!! lol!!)

Actually, we can probably say 'arseholes' on daytime TV cause no one says it. "Assholes" however, no can. Arseholes somehow seems funner though.

"according to Apple, 'Borked' is an American word."

Apple needed a word to describe iTunes, I guess…

Hahaha! So true.

BTW, my next computer will be a Surface. I'm fed up with Apple. And I've been an absolute fanboy since the late 1970's! :-/

But actual arseholes are not funny.

@tom_tm: I bought a Surface Pro 4 before Christmas. Had to return it the next day because it was a complete nightmare to work with. I can't recommend it at all.

Windows 10 is not a tablet OS by any stretch of imagination and, at least at the time, it was barely functional. They've probably fixed some of the problems, but it's just not a device I would want to use for an extended time. It's certainly not as immediate as an iPad. I hate a lot of what Apple has done lately but I have yet to see a viable alternative.

So at least make sure you can extensvely test the tablet before committing.

Eeek!

My brother loves them.

Oh well. I really wanted one as I'm sick of not being able to run any CAD stuff on a Mac without having to load Windows (7, still being the best imo).

Thanks for the advice. :)

You do have to take into account that I'm very allergic to poor UI and tend to take it as a personal insult ;) If you don't take into account all the marketing spiel and just accept that you're buying a windows laptop that has a touch screen and not an actual iPad or a Cintiq replacement, it's probably ok. I would get a mouse, the trackpad on the type cover is ok, but not good and buttons on screen are super tiny. The main reason I returned it was that the pen digitizer was super wobbly. I mean that I traced a cd with the pen and it came out looking like an oval staircase.

And a usage tip, don't put it into tablet mode – you lose the button that invokes the software keyboard. You can only use it in tablet mode if you have the type cover attached. That right there kind of captures my experience.

IMO the Surface is definitely best used as a super compact laptop with a mouse, with handy extra touch screen for browsing websites and scrolling documents.

If the iPad supported a mouse and 'proper' software then I'd say the same about that too.

So to put it another way: the iPad, hobbled by lack of mouse and industry standard software has forced developers to make the best touch interface software they can :)

No one asked my opinion but I've given it anyway, because that's how forums work.

So time that someone finally start to port full screen multi-touch app to windows 10.
So why isn't there yet much to find? Fragmentation? No market?
I really wish there was a device which offers that all. Multi-touch is nice but often a mouse pointer is much better and faster.
Apple could let customers use the pencil for this one day. Or maybe not....
I still wait for a super fast OSX notebook with a giant trackpad which is a full blown own multi-touch screen with iOS when needed.
C'mon Apple....gimme what i want!

OMG! LOL!! LMAO!!! Etc. That is flippin' hilarious!
I love that Mr Blip is laying down the forum wisdom on a forum. His forum!
That's like Confucius level insight right there gentlemen.

And of course we love hearing anything from you Matt (even if it's not about NS2), so it's not like you need to be asked. Or maybe since it's your forum, everything is being asked of you but the rest of us are jumping in to give answers to questions that weren't asked of us, because that also is how forums work. :o)

And for God's sake stay off that mountain bike! At least until after NS2 is out and been updated

Yeah but if he has another spill and suddenly can't complete NS2, then there are a whole lot of us that will go insane. :o)

… aand now I have Cypress Hill in the membrane for the next two days. I just hope when Blip gets on that bike, the only thing getting spilled is the beans!

I think you should all get your own forums. You can say what you like, and simply ban anyone who disagrees. If everyone's all being all nice and agreeable, then you can just edit their posts to make them look bad and then ban them.

In fact both Galaxy and Stiksi are really me, I banned the real ones over 3 years ago :)

HA!!!! :o) That's an excellent idea. In fact I think everyone on this forum is Matt, a la Fight Club. Shit! Maybe I'm Matt! No wonder I keep procrastinating on getting NS2 done. I'm blabbing on the forum. :o)

Hello, existential crisis and Cypress Hill at the same time. Not a good combination. Also, NS2 is going to be released next week and will feature a vorpal powered jubjub synth and tulgey sensitive gyre pads capable of galumphing like manxome.

Take that, you jabberwock of an alternate personality!

How can I tell if that was Matt as Stiksi or Matt as Galaxyexplorer pretending he's Stiksi...?
I'll have to re-read the entire forum to figure this out.

Well I didn't need to read the whole thing after all.

"It's been just over a year since work first began on NanoStudio. At the beginning we didn't have a name for the app but we knew what it needed to do:

- Combine synthesis, sampling, sequencing and mastering into a single easy to use application.
- Make no compromise on quality.
- Provide electronic musicians with THE must-have app for making music on the move.

Over the course of the year the iPhone market has moved rapidly but we've stuck to our principles and feel that we have an app which is unrivalled.

The app is now close to being finished and we're turning our resources to creating content in the form of demo tunes, samples, help and videos.

Expect good things in the coming weeks!"

I count five uses of the pronoun "we". Since clearly the Queen Mother can't code apps, the only logical conclusion is that Matt is one of at least five personalities. Four of them post senseless drivel on forums, and one works on coding a new app. That explains a lot.
Crap! I think I've just been banned!

On a more serious note....
(Bad. I know)

I would like an option in the note editor to select a bunch of notes and be able to pull down on one at either end and create a fade in/fade out. I know that I can draw new events at an angle, but it sure would be nice to edit existing events like this.
