Syrupcore, if that happened, it would blow my mind.

The same internal MIDI routing facility would allow users to trigger multiple instruments from the same track vs replicating the part across tracks.

I notice that the 'Genuine Passports' spam has been up on the forum for quite some time now. That must mean that Matt is working hard and hasn't been screwing around on the forum wasting time. That's a good sign. Shhhh....! Matt's busy working.

MATT, WAKE UP THE FORUM IS GOING TO SH… oh sorry.

Also, to be on topic: …I'm actually drawing a blank. I can't think of any more features I could wish for. I think I might have outwished myself!

A Flux Capacitor would be cool.

Could be dangerous if you're making beats on, say, a 1980's sports car going over 87 mph.

A good feature I think would be some sort effects resampling option to create seamless loops (blending the beginning and ends together?). Just a thought. I know messing with the trimming option can usually get a decent loop with minimal popping or clicking noises at the ends of the loop. Also the ability to shift pitch and keep timing would be super useful. You've probably already thought of this and im sure other users have mentioned it. So I'll just leave this here

@Harisonzamperla: Yes, i totally agree. A kind of Mitosynth can do where you can control the amount and smoothness of the blending between the end and start of the loop.
Then it would be great if we could modulate the start point of a sample and of course playing it backwards. You can do so much with these simple things!

Oh and I noticed Sunriver has an option to turn the filter off for oscillator 2. Just a simple bypass. This allows really varied sounds with a overall smooth tone but a saw can "pop" thru the smoothness and give it some grime. Really great idea I think and probably simple to implement.

If you need, say, a one bar loop with effects, make a two bar loop in the timeline. Resample the two bars. Now the second bar will have the correct effects tail from the first bar and you can cut the resampled two bar loop in half., using the second as your loop.

That sounds like a nice technique, but I'm pretty sure that's not what Galaxyexplorer is talking about. In Mitosynth you can have long evolving samples with various rythmic elements that wouldn't normally be loopable (not like normal druming) made to loop seamlessly by 'cross fading' (not sure that is the right term) the end and the start. Then blend several such samples and you have some interesting results.
Clearly some new sample manipulation tools will be welcomed additions to NS2

I'm not sure what sort of info comes along with a sample, either through the Copy/Paste or Audiobus, but it would be super cool if, for example when in the TRG you press Save As, instead of the default name for the sample being the App Name and a number, ex. nave 01, it could be the preset name. I think I would get confused real quick like (oops, sorry about that syntax - been watching Western TV show called Hell on Wheels) if there were a bunch of samples named nave 1-100. I always have to retype the name of the preset and follow that with an abbreviation for the app it comes from. To do that I usually have to switch back to the app to double check exactly what the name of the preset was. I don't know if it is possible to have the preset name pop up with the saving of the sample function because I don't know if that sort of metadata is being copied currently, but if not maybe you could leave room for the implementation of that sort of thing in the future. Then when you and all the other developers get together at the pub to chew the fat you could bring up the idea and get everyone to implement it because your a swell guy and they like your ideas. Hyperbole aside, is there anything that can be done? It isn't essential for making music, but it would make the "in-the-box" experience a little nicer.

Nanostudio is also on sale at half price right now. Is this an indication that an announcement of some description may be imminent? Or is Blip just broke?

He may need to raise some quick cash to pay off his tab at the pub.

It's the final sale before blip close the door... because Apple bought him too ;)

Now you're giving us nightmares...
Better to dream of winning the lottery and afford to buy Blip Interactive yourself, hiring Matt to implement all the features you want.

@ Slam-Cut: I don't think that would work, Blip can be a stubborn bast*rd – I mean, do we have horizontal knobs… do we? In the name of Tarekith, we demand justice!

Or don't, on second thought, let's not implement horizontal knobs, they are a silly feature.

Silly features for a silly place.

Silly is good. Taking everything too seriously leads to arguments such as the othrr day. Also I had a dream about nanostudio 2 the other day. Might be losing it.

I have a repetitive dream about that. I'm definitely losing it.

I've had a thought. Somewhere around I saw someone posting some presets they had made that I really liked. I think they put them on sellfy for about $5 and I totally intend to buy, because I just don't have the time or the energy to put into making sounds I want to hear.

But it got me thinking, I'm sure a lot more people would do this if there was some sort of dedicated market place. Somewhere we can all go to browse, purchase and rate presets made by others. And not just for NanoStudio (2), but for any App that supports loading of presets. Is this something that people would be interested in?

Haha. That was me actually who did the presets. I like the idea of of synth sharing/for sale site. Theres synthpatcher.com and there's a discount on presets for members and there's a pretty good community over there. If you wanna check the presets out soundtest room did a demo review of them at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ykGLLD6LFoM

I hope matt isn't losing too much sleep over his new nanostudio brainchild. Lol. Good luck Matt

@cal Thank you! I worked pretty hard on them tweaking and what not. Really excited to hear what people do with some of the sounds.

So, still some time to add wishes..... :P

Here we go:

Polyphonic Pitch Bend (plus in general polyphonic aftertouch events).

Polyphonic (per note) LFO and MSEG inside Eden 2 (or whatever).

That's it for today ;)

@MDMAMGMT: hoping you do know about the Community NSP and TRG Files sticky at the top of General Chat. Lots of free sound banks in there. There are a lot of threads that one has to wade through, and there might be a better way to organize this in the future so that it is just links to files...

I'm guessing that Blip Interative likes to stay distanced from collections of presets & samples on the off chance that there are pirating issues, so what we really need is someone on the forum with good skills to set up a place we can gather NS banks in an uncluttered collection. Once NS2 is released, it could get really messy on this forum. Anyone got ideas? I think a list/links page to all free and pay banks would be a great resource for the NS/iOS community. It is just a bit beyond my experience to set this up.

I have absolutely the skillset to set up something to organize submissions, as well as some sort of rating / tracking system to keep the most popular ones visible, I just don't have the time at the moment. Once you can start building things you run into the problem of always having 5 great ideas at once and only the time to give to 1 of them. My priorities and incentives would have to change quite a bit, but maybe closer to the time NS2 comes out I will get a burst of inspiration to throw something together.

@MDMAMGMT: splendid! That's about the time we'll really need something like that. Please let us know so we can help by submitting .nsp sound banks and TRG sets. I have a bunch of presets I can gather together as a new bank for the new site.

You know that this comes...... Audio Units in NanoStudio 2! ;)
