Creating custom TRG Banks. Four possible ways:
1) Copy samples to your phone with Nanosync, load samples pad by pad in the TRG, export the TRG kit for later reuse. easy.
2) Build the trg folders manually http://forums.blipinteractive.co.uk/node/1464#comment-6811
3) Use TRGMaker http://luktown.org/random/trg/
4) If you have access to bash, try drumTruck: http://forums.blipinteractive.co.uk/node/2366
Note: For 1), if all of your samples are in the same folder on your idevice: load the first sound. Then copy the pad to all of the other pads, choosing not to make a copy of the sample. Then go to each pad and hit load. This will default you to the same directory instead of having to navigate from scratch each time.

I don't have WIFI. How can I transfer files to my iDevice?
"Try iPhone Explorer http://www.macroplant.com/iphoneexplorer/ NanoStudio's files are under Apps/NanoStudio/Documents/User, and you'll need to ensure that wav files have been converted to 16 bit before you copy them over since NanoSync normally performs this function for you." - Matt from http://forums.blipinteractive.co.uk/node/2088

How do I embed the soundcloud player into a forum post?
Go to your track in SoundCloud, click on its 'Share' button and then copy the embed code. Finally, paste that code into your post and (here's the important bit) before you click on Save, change the 'Input format' (just above the post's Save button at the bottom) to 'Full HTML'. This can take a couple of minutes to show up. You may have to refresh the page to see it.

Well done. You've helped a lot of folks. Thanks from the community for your efforts.
Kudos! This should be a "Sticky" post!
Yes, anyone who possesses the ability to post a Goatse link but also has the maturity and presence of mind to resist such a temptation deserves unreserved thanks. I've made this thread "sticky".
Indeed, Goatse link was in there at first but I decided to err on the side of grown up. It's a shame, really.
Some people have no sense of humor huh. Never mind
iPadder fanatics can consider this fair warning I guess…
@syrupcore(maybe:))Hi, I wondered if you could help me,I've noticed you are big contributor on Nano forums & saw you were on line.Basically,is the new 1.31 update compatible with iOS 4.1
I'm currently running Nano 1.21 & was unaware there had been an update(let alone a bug fix as well)-silly me ! The update sounds really good. You may wonder why I'm not running iOS 5, thing is I've only got "dongle"Internet connection & as my phones always worked well I've just kept it as it is with a kind of "if it aint broke don't fix it"attitude. I do realise though that now's the time I simply have to upgrade to iOS 5,a lot of the music apps I use or would like to use are updating& are only compatible with higher iOS's than mine& have better features and interactivity etc. I'm just going to have to go to a friends I guess and hook up to their WI-FI
as I've been a little put off attempting to update with only dongle connection,I've read a few peoples comments suggesting it may not be as straightforward as I'd like.
Anyway,in the meantime, is the 1.3(1.31) update compatible with iOS 4.1
or will I have to wait till I'm able to update iOS ?
Thanks in advance for any help:-)
Ps-I have an iPhone 4 runnning on iOS 4.1
Also(!) re: iOS 5. The comments I've read that indicate that iOS 5 may be more of a hassle than previous iOS updates seem to go on about making sure you back up your info- wether it be Nano stuff or even(for 1person I know) contacts-tel No's etc.
Is this the case? I thought the phone backed itself up during sync &/or iOS updates.
I've managed to update my phone via dongle connection in the past so I'm wondering if I should just go for it. As I have no WI-FI are there any special precautions I should take with my Nano content & if so how? I know I can upload to Soundcloud, would I then have to download the WAV file & get it back into Nano(somehow!) thanks again :-)
You can use nanosync to grab all your stuff from the phone if you can get on a friends wifi network. Coffee shop should work as well. You can use iExplorer or similar to grab everything first if you want to do it over a wired connection.
Looks like NS 1.3 runs just fine on older versions of iOS - I think back to 3.13 or something.
Also, I think you can update to ios 5 over a cable. iOS 5 added a feature to update the OS and do syncing wirelessly but I don't think that's a requirement. I could be wrong about that.
You could also buy a cheapo USB wifi thingy and have it unopened and at the ready in case you absolutely need wifi for something. If your update goes well, return it.
@syrupcore Thanx for info & tips. The buying a WI-FI cable just in case idea is most ingeneous;-) I used to check out the forum much more than of late & I need to get into the habit of having a browse to keep up to speed:-) Who knows I might get brave enough to post a link to a NanoSong.
Just to be clear, I'm only going to kill the first-born puppy.
I guess I'll try to be more patient in the future :D
Hey there! I have a problem!:( I need to record vocals, and while recording I really need to hear the main track playing... any suggestions?
Yep... Once you get to the record menu, just before you press the rec, set the monitor status to [Song (1-something)], you can set the loop points on the song panel just before you get there.
It works quite well with my xperia x10 mini hfree set... hmm not a pro solution i guess.
Edit: I knew there was some kind of deja-vu there...
The app didnt start before so i deleted it just to download again (ive tryed the same before with success) But this time all of my data/samples/everything got lost!!! What can I do???
the best thing to do before deleting anything is to use NanoSync to retrieve your samples/projects from your device. I do this regularly as i am paranoid about my phone crashing and losing all of my work.
If you delete an app, you also delete all of its data - this is way iOS works.
However, if you have an iTunes backup from a time when you still had the app then you can try restoring from this backup. Be aware that iTunes only keeps one backup at a time (ie. the latest) and it's all or nothing (ie. you won't have the option to just restore NanoStudio's data, it'll be everything).
But my problem is that i cant open the app! If i could, Off course i would save all the sampls with nanosync...
This happens pretty often and its very anoying because you never know when it strikes...
It would be nice if you had the possibility to restore all of the data by log on to your internet account and nanosync it somehow or something like that... This affect the purpose with the app and sadly kills the positiv will to use it. I also lose alot of creativity because im always affraid that my work will get lost in an unprodicted future. Yeah you get the point! Please help me keep my work safe somehow... The app has given me so much joy. //Gloggfunk
You could also try iExplorer: http://www.macroplant.com/iexplorer/
You might can get to the NS files that way, transfer them to the PC/Mac, uninstall NS, reinstall, then NanoSync the files back onto the device
Can one of you big brains give a little brain some advice? Is it possible to use NS as another sound-bank for my KORG M1 synthesizer? If so, what kind of adapter do I need? Will an iRig Midi Adapter work? Thanks for any help you can give me. I feel really dumb when I read some of these entries! You guys are SMART.
p.s. While I'm asking, can I use NS as a sound bank for my Roland Guitar Synthesizer too? That would be mega-cool.
@skeletoys yes. Check out the 'confirmed hardware' thread at the top of the General Chat section of this forum for options.
I REALLY appreciate the help! Have an excellent week....
I would appreciate some advice. I'm a bit of a novice with Nano Studio/Logic and, to be honest, technology in general! I'm starting to get my head around Logic. I have created tracks on Nano Studio which is an amazing tool. I was wondering if it's possible to import tracks created on Nano Studio and work on them further on Logic.
If this is possible, any tips on how to do this would be amazing!
Essentially: on the Project page, select Mixdown. In the Output dialogue box select Mixer Channels. Select the output options in the Region and Format boxes, and then select Mixdown. Then you can use Nanosync on your computer to transfer the tracks to your computer. Check out the Help section of Nanostudio (Final Mixdown and Sharing) for other options.
Why can "not verified" people post pr0n, but I need to answer 3 captchas being logged in with my registered account each time I just want to say "poo"? There seems to be some technical problem here ;)
'Unverified' means I deleted the user but missed deleting all their posts. Fixed now ...
I'm new to nanostudio, and I literally have no clue what I'm doing. Can you help me? I'm trying to make dubstep and have no clue where to start.
@yo, search the above for 'wobble'. Also, third link up there is a tutorial to the very basics.
