Whenever NS2 is released it’s going to be a holiday with much beer...er I mean celebration.

Hey :)

Waiting patiently, no rush. Greatly respect your decision to hold off until you're satisfied with the build.

Retronyms (whose products I've grown to hate and never use over the years) have obviously decided to go the other way! They've just released IMPC-2 (of course, rather than updating the old one) and are promising 'song creation' features alongside the beat-making. They haven't even managed to put it up on their front page and their email directs people to their blog page for info, and, obviously, not even a video to show off the new features.

Look like they decided they needed to cash in on Christmas.

@Matt It’s the holidays. I think family SHOULD come first. :) The fact you don’t want to force out a half-assed product in time for the holiday season is a great thing. You can make it a “tax season” release. ;)

Also, as stated above, “A delayed game is eventually good, a bad game is bad forever.” Some brand new screenshots, or even a half-assed instruction manual, would be very welcome distractions for this lot. Anything to whet our drooling appetites.

Finally, as I said, I’d be more than happy to offer my beta testing skills to you while you fine tune the code and get NS2 up and running as a bug-free app. Cheers. :)

I am absolutely positive that holding off is the right choice.

I understand the pressure (I feel a modicum of what you're feeling on my end) but if you could put enough aside for the short term it will be a better app, a better release... and a better Matt! Everyone wins!

You know, I'm not terribly sure it would make a huge monitary difference anyways. It takes time for word to get out and enough people aware of it in the iOS ecosystem (beyond those in this forum, and diehards).

It's the right call. Enjoy your holidays my friend.

Oh Matt poor you it sounds so stressful............just step back for a bit and try to enjoy Christmas............Nanostudio can wait!
People will get it regardless.......and it gives us all something to look forward to in January!

Get down the Poundshop and get yourself some nice liqueurs and pig out.........do something nice *for yourself* whatever that is ( mine is going for a fry up and maybe a mooch around charity shops!). That and an episode of Columbo if it's on the box!

Honestly it can all wait a bit! Who knows it might even get a mention with NAMM news!

Oh and PS I don't want to be a betatester lol

Hi Matt I would Just chill for the Xmas period:)

Most of us should really put down the iPad/iPhone and actually engage with out love ones this time of year anyway... think of it as doing us a favour.

Miserable January is a perfect for something to look forward to.

I am willing to wait to get the proper release, but I am also willing to pay up front!
Take a well-deserved break and enjoy the Holidays!
We will ALL still be here when you get back!
I am sure there isn't one of us will jump ship just because of the delay!
It will make it all the more exciting when we here about the final release date.
Until then, covered in drool.

Hey Matt - whatever you do, don't let any release cost you health. It's just not worth it. You have to be happy with the release, and you have to be happy to support it when the inevitable few issues do arise. If you are already sick of the sight of it, you won't want to do open the code to fix issues, and if you think the pressure is high now to release, imagine the pressure of fixing issues.

Have a break with the family, get some rest. I say don't hurry, if you've developed using agile you'll know what I mean about "velocity". You'll get there faster if you pace yourself well.

If you need support with testing, I'm sure there are members here who would help. I've done some software testing myself for the corporate world, and would be willing (although I haven't done any beta testing on IOS).

Anyway, enjoy a break :)

Have a great family Xmas Matt.

Just call it Nanostudio2018 so there’s no stress on which month you complete and release it into the wild! :)

Matt... I'm a big fan of NS1! I ask you in the project NS2 to not change the design of NS1 to NS2 so much! Please don't make the mistake and don't let NanoStudio2 look like all the other music apps... because at the moment NS2 looks very similar to many other music apps!
The design of NS1 was very independent and unmistakable! I don't like the dark colors at NanoStudio2!!!
And what else... please take as many instruments from NS1 as possible in the new project. I loved some spherical sounds of NS1 very much! I also liked the construction of the various "tables".
You may notice that I miss NanoStudio1 very much!
Please do not pay so much attention to my spelling and grammar, since I have worked with a translator

I wish everyone here in the forum for the upcoming Christmas holidays and the New Year all the best and beautiful! Best regards, Markus Bragato

Kind, thoughtful, supportive replies from people on an Internet forum? What the fuck is going here?

@ Remi1967: I disagree. I like the way NS2 looks - much better than NS1. Also, presets from NS1 will not work in NS2.

“Kind, thoughtful, supportive replies from people on an Internet forum? What the fuck is going here?”

A few theories...

-The Holiday season.

-This forum is unsullied from the type of horseshit that’s steadily turning the Audiobus forums into a cesspool of vitriol, and we’d like to maintain a sense of tightly-knit camaraderie and fellowship here. :)

-The fact Matt is one person and not some faceless corporation, and the fact we’ve ALL been in Matt’s shoes at least at one point in our own lives and can identify with his situation. Matt was kind enough to tell us what’s up, and he seems to be good folks.

-Maybe it’s a mix of all of the above.

Cheers mate, and here’s to happy music making and a great holiday season! :)

Everyone is saying it.

Wife first, family first.

The real men and women here would never want to see your family life suffer because of a music app.

Yes we all want nano2 asap, but that ASAP needs to be in your timing, and what's right for you.

Hope you have as long of a relaxing step away as you need.

It is actually surprisingly warm and fuzzy in this forum :) I'm not here often, but I've never seen anything but decent, intelligent, sometimes silly - but never stupid - conversations here, and it is...

Weird :)

Can somebody go postal on somebody else just so we don't jinx it?

If you want "stupid" we have it in bucket loads over on the audiobus forum (my DAW is better than your DAW) so it's good we don't have it here :-)

I win all of the ‘My DAW is better than your DAW’ arguments by simply staying on this forum. :-)

Well there was this guy a couple of years a go...
But since he went back to his cave it´s been nothing but peace, love and boasting :)

To Blip, take your time, without a doubt. Rushing makes things worse. I couldn't care less about a loosely proposed deadline.

Because of the holiday season, the earworm part of my brain is on overdrive. So Slam-Cut's ‘My DAW is better than your DAW’ gave me an instant "This DAW is your DAW, this DAW is my DAW" earworm, which thankfully has now turned into "My milkshake brings all the DAWs to the yard"… which would be fine without that damn bell hit every few lines.

Dada dada dah… I really need that holiday…

…celebrate! NO! Vacation, vacation! Thank god I don't know any songs about vacation. That was a close one!

Also, doesn't "going postal" nowadays just mean going through customs on your way to the next block and being fashionably 2 months late and also never apologising for it?

I am also fine with NS2 coming out later and greater.

I'll say it again, I seriously appreciate such positive support.

It feels like at some point during the last year a reality inversion took place and instead of me controlling this project, the project's now controlling me. When people ask me when it's going to be finished I feel like saying don't ask me, ask the bloody project - I'm just its bitch now :)

Haha, I wouldn't change my official title if I were you :D although if you ever want to apply for a job in the future "project bitch" does have a certain management ring to it.

Reality Inversion! Great concept... I may need to borrow that for the name of a track
Supporting you as the creator of NS is a pretty easy thing for us to do. If you really want us to support you we could get a gaggle of us together to come round and knock you up for a rousing bit of caroling. Stiksi’s been on a roll for song ideas. Maybe we could do ‘O Nanostudio’ (in Deutsch of course), ‘We Wish You A Merry Obsidian’, ‘Good Blip Interactive’, ‘Blip Rest You Merry, Gentlemen’, ‘Filters We Have Heard On High’, ‘The First TRG’, ‘We Oscillators of LFOs Are’, and of course ‘O Come All Ye Tweakers’.

OK. I’ll stop now.
