@Candymachine I like it a lot! Just my kind of music!!

Well yes Axphin, i use NanoStudio on my Mac also. But not because autoupdate, it is also not because of the Eden banks, i copy them hand by hand with the project trick. But it is because of the bigger screen, i hope NanoStudio 2 will also be released for Mac etc.... I would pay for it... But let's not add wishes, let's wait for the dishes - to be served first, otherwise they may get cold...
I made a Dark Minimal track i am not really proud of, but watch out for 2:40 Mins. - this is made in NanoStudio solely, not even with inApp Audio or AudioCopy, i really like to squeeze the rest out of NanoStudio, but i fail for the risers and other FX's...

Hello there, it has been since a long time here that i have posted my tracks. But you should be thankful, no, well i don't know - really! I made a track with NanoStudio, but since i am no friend of SoundCloud anymore i chose to put up my music on YouTube instead. I really liked the function of uploading tracks directly into a SoundCloud restricted (direct ouput) group, in this track i did only use NanoStudio, i mixed different styles of TripHop (but without voice), DnB, NuSound, Lounge... I am more into hypnotic, relaxing and healing music nowadays, i tried some trance music but i suck at it i think. Well, let me hear what you think? I can upload the NSP if you want...

  • "Email File" - NanoStudio 1 is 'Greyed Out'. Has the app lost this functionality?   12 weeks 1 day ago

    Thanks Jim,

Good to hear it’s still working, and my issue is likely to be local.

Works fine for me still. I guess check that your mail is still configured?

    +another on what Slam-Cut said.

'It's better to view them as free marketing. :)'

No, better to view them as self-entitled cunts.

"People using warez either can't afford to pay you (yet) or won't pay you out of principle; they're definitely not your target group. It's better to view them as free marketing. "

So they can afford an iPhone or iPad, but not apps that make it worth having those devices?
People who won't pay out of principle are called thieves. They are not pirates. Do they steal iPhone too? What ever happened to hustling up a few extra hours of work and saving up for something you want?

Good to hear we are reaching the end. I’ve recently bought a Novation Circuit to keep me occupied until NS2, I had a moment of weakness on eBay when I saw the Bass Station 2, and started pining for my long dead BS1. Still getting to grips with it, but I like the physical tweaking of knobs. I like the fact you can download patches for it, there’s a few Aphex Twin and Boards of Canada patches around that I will get
I will more than likely use both in a “live” /jam set up once I finish my studio.......

Is jailbreaking not a thing now?

Jailbreaking is very much a thing, but it has become a much more tight-knit community. There hasn't been a public untethered jailbreak since iOS9 (that means, you need to actively run the exploit chain every time you reboot your iDevice) and the wait for a stable jailbreak for news iOS versions has been much longer than it used to. For info on what you can do with your jailbroken devices, go here:
Personally, I really love activator, my firewall and the ability to lock just certain apps and folders, instead of my whole phone (mostly because: kids). The ability to compile stuff right on your phone as well as running a VNC server on it and using your phone from your 'puter is very handy.

Also pirating is still a thing (and will be), but please Matt, neglect these people and don't invest time in countering them besides the most basic measures. People using warez either can't afford to pay you (yet) or won't pay you out of principle; they're definitely not your target group. It's better to view them as free marketing. :)

That’s encouraging. Thanks for the update tom_tm!

I mailed Giku (Beepstreet) a few weeks back, asking kindly to update Sunrizer. I'm sure he will because I also requested microtonality, and I know several others would have contacted him over that too- and consequently microtonality was added. Like Blip, he's a one-man band. These items of greatness will appear in the end, but it just takes time.

  • Synth screen shots   13 weeks 18 hours ago

Maybe after his ‘other projects’ we’ll get to see Sunrizer 2.
    One can hope...

Don’t say that Tom and Dendy! Aaaaaaaaaaaargh.

Here’s something that’ll sound really stoopid. I bought Sunrizer as a VST a while ago and you can guess what I’m going to say... somehow... it doesn’t sound as good!

  • Synth screen shots   13 weeks 1 day ago

unfortunately he is working on other projects so i don't think we will see sunrizer 2 auv3 anytime soon...

  • Synth screen shots   13 weeks 1 day ago

Wow Atticus! That's awesome news! Thanks for the update!

EDIT: However, I've just read that and although the announcement was made last September, development may have been dropped for now. But who knows. You can never tell whether or not this is just from another (disgruntled) developer. We'll have to wait and see I suppose.

  • Synth screen shots   13 weeks 2 days ago

Beep street posts on the Audiobus forums. He’s doing Sunrizer 2, which will be Auv3 of course. No doubt it won’t sound as good as the original! I still find it stunning.

Karmamole: there are 2 problems with that model 1) a free PC/Mac version should not be expected because no other company does it. Buy the iOS Photoshop app and you will still have to pay for the PC/Mac versions of Photoshop. Companies don’t do it because 2) it takes a lot of time to develop and maintain the software on different platforms. Time = money in the business world. If we expected a free version for PC/Mac, the effort could bog down development/maintainance of NS2 on all platforms. I’d rather see all versions offered for sale so the the company Blip Interactive can stay profitable long into the future and keep this great DAW around for us to use (not to mention other apps that might come out: FX, synths, IAP presets, etc.). We have to be willing to support that.

I’m hoping that there will at least be a PayPal Donate button added to the website so that we could donate for ‘R & D’.

Making NS1 available free on PC was very kind, and has proven very useful recently since NS1 became outdated on new versions of IOS. I was able to backup all my files to the PC, and can still use and render my tracks there - so I didn't feel that I'd lost anything in the transition. However, yes - with all the work put into NS2 - I think it wouldn't make sense to make it free on PC/Mac, but it would still be nice for people using it on IOS to be able to use it on their PC's or Macs...

So here's an idea - is it possible to include some kind of key generator in the IOS version of NS2 that would somehow create and activate a limited number of licenses (I doubt more than 2 would be necessary per user) and maybe tie that to the mobile device's IMEI?

That way, people who've purchased NS2 on IOS could use it for free on PC/Mac whereas those who haven't would have to pay something to use it on those platforms?

I don't even know if that's do-able. Just thinking out loud...

NanoStudio is a heavyweight, matt is one of the early ios music app devs, his time and work deserves to be compensated for sure. no less than 20 dollars for the version without audio tracks. If people dont like that price they can stick with listening to the radio for free :)

  • Sequencer screen shots   13 weeks 5 days ago

Plus: Even if you put the same price as on iOS, it will still be one of the cheapest PC/Mac DAW:s out there...

  • Sequencer screen shots   13 weeks 5 days ago

Not only that, but with all the blood, sweat, and tears this man has put into NS2 (including the near breakdown in December last year) as well as the flack he suffered from morons (one of which I recently told off at a different forum), Matt deserves proper compensation! I for one would love to reward years of passionate hard labour and work. This is why I’m so pushy when it comes to Matt setting a proper price (rather than underselling himself) and pushy about him putting out a LOT of IAP content (including something akin to Miroslav orchestra, world instruments from all corners of the globe, excellent preset packs for Obsidian (I’d buy them even if I rarely use presets myself), and of course IAP audio tracks, premium native format plugins (such as a 10-band EQ with lots of filter shapes to choose from, convolution reverb, multiband plugins, etc), and etc).

Also, while I’m normally against subscriptions, I wouldn’t mind subscribing to a monthly tip jar subscription that is not required to unlock anything but is there just to show Matt how much we appreciate him on a monthly basis. Food for thought just the same.

  • Sequencer screen shots   13 weeks 5 days ago

I get you and totally agree that PC/Mac versions should not be for free. I feel that they should be charged for like any other software since it takes a lot of time to develop and maintain software for those platforms.

  • Sequencer screen shots   13 weeks 6 days ago

The point I was making was for Matt to not just give away the PC/Mac versions of NS2, that if people don’t have iOS, they need to pay the piper.

If all versions of NS2 are paid versions, that’s good too. I barely use the PC for anything anyways but would buy NS2 for that in a heartbeat.

  • Old stuff   13 weeks 6 days ago

Well an Ipod 3 is put away in the back cupboard because of it's age.....same as Ipad 1 - they are worth nothing now......I don't keep them to hand yes sometimes I pull old things out and have another it is re-discovering technology
The problem with an Ipad 1 is the browser really that gets relegated to the back of a cupboard.......but like old computers sometimes it's fun to go back and use Cubase on a 1999 Imac and use the Steinberg Neon VST
